FAQ's
Q: I would like to audition but I will be out of town and unable to audition on the assigned days. Can I still audition?
A: YES! We will be accepting video auditions for those who are unavailable to audition in person. Video auditions are due by Friday, April 22, 2022. See instructions for video submissions on our audition page.
Q: I am available to audition on the assigned days but I can not find an available spot to sign up. Can I still audition?
A: YES! We are working with the director to open up more times, or to provide a stand-by option. We will post that information to our website as well as our social media sites as soon as we have solidified that information. We do not plan on turning anyone away who desires to audition.
Q: Are there fees associated with participating in the summer show?
A: Yes. Each participant will need to pay a production fee (non-refundable), a parent volunteer fee (refundable), and a materials fee (refundable). The specific amounts of these fees, and terms of refundable fees will be available at auditions and are due the night of our parent meeting.
Q: Are there scholarships available for kids who can not afford the production fees?
A: Yes! JuMP Company has a scholarship fund that can cover the cost of fees either in part or full based on financial need. If you feel like you would qualify, please contact us on FB messenger or email at corrine@estreetcc.org
Q: Will there be callbacks?
A: We have received an overwhelming response to the interest in this show. We are thrilled to have so many talented kids in our community who want to participate. We do not plan to have callbacks, but that may change depending on how audition go. We will keep everyone posted on this.
Q: I want to participate in Wizard of Oz but I'm worried that my busy schedule will conflict with the rehearsal schedule. Should I even audition?
A: Absolutely! We understand that kids are busy, especially our older kids. Participating in a JuMP Company show is a big commitment. We encourage everyone to make rehearsals a priority as it affects the success of the production. However, we understand summer is a busy time and schedules have been set long before you decided to audition. If you have schedule conflicts prior to our no miss days, we ask that you notify us on your audition sheet so that we are aware and can work around those absences. We do have a strict NO MISS period from May 31-June 18. If you have conflicts during that time period you would need to work out those conflicts, or choose not to audition. Typically the only exception to our no miss dates is a family emergency, or a contagious illness. We will discuss specifics of our attendance policy at parent night.
Q: What if I audition and don't get the role I want?
A: We understand that it can be disappointing to not get the role you wanted. At JuMP Company, we believe that every role is important. We would encourage you to accept whatever role is given to you and are confident that you will find satisfaction in being a part of this musical theatre community. The benefits of your overall experience will be a blessing to you as you work hard, contribute in positive ways, push yourself to grow and develop your talents and encourage others to do the same. If you are discouraged by the results of the cast list, hang in there. Trust the creative team and embrace the important role you have and the contributions you can make as the uniquely talented individual that you are.
Q: Are there ways for me to be involved in JuMP Company that don't involve performing on stage?
A: Yes! There are so many aspects to the performing arts, many of which are not in the spotlight. One of JuMP Company's main goals is to help the kids in our community to grow in their education of the arts. If you have an interest in stage crew, building sets or props, doing hair or makeup, or costuming, we would welcome your help. If you are interesting in helping in any of these ways please contact us via Facebook messenger.
Q: As a parent, are there ways for me to be involved?
